【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoversamplingofcreosote,creosote-coaltarsolutions,creosote-petroleumsolutions,andoilborneandwaterbornepreservatives.Note1-SeeSpecificationD390,forCoal-TarCreosoteforthePreservativeTreatmentofPiles,Poles,andTimbersforMarine,Land,andFreshWaterUse,SpecificationD391forCreosote-CoalTarSolution,andSpecificationD1858,forCreosote-PetroleumSolution.Creosoteandcreosotesolutionsarehomogeneousliquids,exceptfortheirmoisturecontent.Atatmospherictemperatures,however,partofthecreosoteisusuallyincrystallineform,andshallbeheatedtoatemperatureatwhichitisentirelyliquidbeforesampling.Whensamplingcreosoteandcreosotesolutions,theobjectistoobtainasamplethatwillberepresentativeofthewatercontent,andthemethodsofsamplingdescribedareintendedtoaccomplishthatpurpose.Recommendedtestmethodsaregivenforsamplingapreservativeinaliquidorsolidstateandintheseveraltypesofcontainersinwhichtheyarelikelytobeencountered.Creosote,creosote-coaltar,andcreosote-petroleumsolutionsmaybeintheformofaliquidorsemiliquid.Oilborneandwaterbornepreservativesmaybeinthesolidstate,inconcentratedsolutions,orinready-to-usesolutions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
