【摘要】:Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetherelativewearpreventivepropertiesoflubricatingfluidsinslidingcontactundertheprescribedtestconditions.Noattempthasbeenmadetocorrelatethistestwithballsinrollingcontact.Theuserofthistestmethodshoulddeterminetohisownsatisfactionwhetherresultsofthistestprocedurecorrelatewithfieldperformanceorotherbenchtestmachines.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureformakingapreliminaryevaluationoftheanti-wearpropertiesoffluidlubricantsinslidingcontactbymeansoftheFour-BallWearTestMachine.EvaluationoflubricatinggreaseusingthesamemachineisdetailedinTestMethodD2266.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
